Fast Facts About Lakeland Sharing Foundation
- Our two main programs are the Christmas Gift Program (December) and the Backpack/School Supplies Program (July/August).
- We serve children, newborn through age 16, in the Lakeland Area School District as well as special needs adults in school.
- All work is done exclusively by volunteers who are permanent or seasonal residents of the Lakeland area. We have no paid staff.
- We are a 501c(3) non-profit organization registered with the State of Wisconsin. All donations are fully tax deductible as permitted by law.
- Currently, we are funded exclusively by donations from businesses, individuals and organizations.
- About 95% of donated funds go directly to programs. The balance goes primarily to insurance, postage, and printing.
- Our annual budget is approximately $72,000.
- Children who receive our gifts remain anonymous to us.
- We rely on schools, local day care centers, HeadStart, WIC (Women, Infants and Children), and churches to identify parents whose children qualify for our programs. Parents may also contact us directly for assistance at 715-277-3434.
- We were formed in 2001.
